Alkermes’ Statement on the Passing of Iain Brown, Chief Financial Officer

Alkermes is saddened to announce the passing of its Chief Financial Officer, Iain Brown. Iain had been on a medical leave of absence since February 2024 and passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. Iain joined Alkermes in 2003 and became CFO in 2021. He played an instrumental role in the company’s transformation over the last several years into a profitable, pure-play neuroscience company.

“This is a moment of profound sadness for those of us who knew Iain, and a great loss for Alkermes. Iain was an admired and respected leader, deeply knowledgeable and humble, and he was a trusted peer and colleague,” said Richard Pops, Chief Executive Officer of Alkermes. “Iain’s contributions to the company were vast, but to many of us, Iain was also a dear and cherished friend, known for his kindness and humor. He will be missed greatly. We mourn our friend’s passing and extend our deepest condolences to his family, particularly his daughter and son, whom he loved fiercely.”

Iain was born in England and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from the University of Bradford, England. Before joining Alkermes in 2003, Mr. Brown managed EMD Serono’s North American financial operations, after being Group Corporate Controller based in Geneva, Switzerland. He also previously served as Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Blair Jackson will continue to serve in the role of interim principal financial officer and Sam Parisi will continue to serve in the role of interim principal accounting officer while the company’s Board of Directors identifies Mr. Brown’s successor.
